Digital Specialist Consultant (Content or Data-Focused)
$60-$70 / hour dependent on scope and experience
Location: Remote in the US
O2O Strategy Group (O2O) is seeking one or more Digital Specialists to fill core creative and technical consulting roles on a range of online-to-offline organizing campaigns. Ideal candidates will be highly proficient in one or more of the following areas:

- Producing compelling audio-visual and written content that helps organizers move people to action.
- Developing systems for data management, analysis, and informing campaign strategy across digital and organizing teams.
These consulting roles will support O2O clients’ organizing campaigns on a range of issues including workers’ rights, public education, the care economy, corporate accountability, climate change, and more.
Applicants should have experience and demonstrated commitment to working on social justice causes; however, we also seek individuals with a range of experiences from marketing, communications, and data roles outside of the nonprofit and union organizing sectors who are looking to do meaningful work with their skills.
We have a strong preference for working with individuals who may want to join our staff permanently.

Core Functions
(Flexible, based on consultant’s area of focus and skill)
Consultants in a content creation role:
- Produce persuasive audio-visual and written content that helps campaigns move people to action on a range of issues through digital ads, organic social media, and other outreach and engagement opportunities.
- Support O2O partners through the creative process of developing the visual identity, narrative, messaging, materials, websites, templates, etc. for their campaigns.
- Work with the O2O training team to develop accessible training curriculum and provide training on content creation to client staff and members as needed.
- Should have a high level of skill with at least one graphic design program and video program. (Web development experience is a plus!)
- Should have strong writing skills in English. (Proficiency in Spanish or another language is a plus.)
- Should have experience managing a content calendar and coordinating among team members to meet campaign goals.
Consultants in a data role:
- Work with O2O clients to diagnose challenges and develop systems to improve organizers’ collection, understanding, and usage of data in order to improve strategy and outcomes.
- Analyze datasets and create visualizations and reports to help organizers understand and improve their campaign impact, including pivot tables/crosstabs, charts, maps, etc.
- Develop data and systems training curriculum including data strategy, database onboarding, process/instructional guides, flow charts, skill building, cheat sheets, etc. for client staff as needed.
- Should have an intermediate to advanced level of skill in Google Sheets and Excel with mastery in vlookup or index match as well as other core functions.
- Should have demonstrated experience supporting a team with data, including ensuring data quality, using data to assist in organizational decision-making, and communicating information to groups of people with various levels of data literacy.
- Should have proficiency as an end user and administrator with common movement data and CRM tools, including but not limited to EveryAction/VAN, Action Network, Zapier, etc.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, programming languages, and GIS are a plus.
Preferred Competencies for All Roles:
- You have a good understanding of digital tools and their application to organizing.
- You are skilled in project management and balancing the need for high quality work with expediency to meet campaign timelines.
- You are self-motivated, highly accountable to team members and clients, and comfortable and effective working in a remote environment.
- You are proficient with digital tools for team coordination (Zoom, Slack, Google Apps, etc).
- You have a demonstrated commitment to social justice and can compellingly articulate issues facing BIPOC communities, low-income families, and lgbt+.
- You have at least 2 years experience working in progressive political campaigns, non-profits, or unions, either in a professional or volunteer role.
